Summary

This lunch event is organized as an introductory session to introduce participants to a 45-day mentoring program, which guides participants in building a watchlist of undervalued stocks through a systematic and data-driven screening process. This event is specifically designed for individuals who want to develop their investment skills in a structured and practical way.

Background

Intermediate-level investors often face difficulties in identifying stocks that are worthy of inclusion in their watchlist. The stock selection process tends to be unstructured — based on news, broker recommendations, or short-term price movements — resulting in a portfolio that lacks strategic coherence. Without a well-curated watchlist, investors miss opportunities to buy quality stocks at favorable prices when market momentum allows.

Discussion Agenda

This program introduces a systematic stock screening methodology:

  1. The concept of undervalued stock — understanding the difference between market price and intrinsic value of a stock so that participants can see opportunities from a value perspective, not just from price movements.

  2. Multi-ratio screening framework — the integrated use of P/E Ratio, P/B Ratio, and debt-to-equity ratio to filter stocks more objectively and measurably.

  3. Utilization of analysis tools — the use of platforms like Stockbit and RTI Business for the domestic market, as well as Yahoo Finance, Finviz, and Seeking Alpha for the global market, so that participants become accustomed to conducting research with relevant data.

  4. Access to international exchanges — a practical guide to investing in the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, and other countries so that participants have a broader perspective in seeking investment opportunities.

  5. Evaluation of business quality — assessing the competitive advantage or economic moat of a company alongside quantitative metrics, so that participants do not only focus on cheap numbers but also on the quality of the business.

  6. Global macroeconomic considerations — understanding how monetary policy, inflation, interest rates, and geopolitics can affect stock valuations, especially for international investments.

  7. Structured watchlist development — participants will be guided to compile a list of 10 curated undervalued stocks, so they have a watchlist ready to monitor and execute when prices reach the desired level.
